Acarya Diiptimanananda Avadhuta
Acarya Diiptimanananda Avadhuta (Dada) started practicing Ananda Marga yoga and meditation as a teenager and at the age of 22 decided to become an Acarya (monk) of Ananda Marga. In the years 1997 – 2005 he took extensive spiritual training and same time managed organic bakeries in Denmark and Sweden. The training included daily practice of yoga asanas, meditation, and study of other related subjects such as spiritual philosophy, social philosophy, Bengali and Sanskrit languages, devotional songs, Kiirtana, and social skills. The last part of the Acarya training took place in the northern part of India. He graduated as a junior monk (Brahmacarii) in November 2005 and was posted in Taiwan.
From 2006 to 2013, he was teaching yoga and meditation and assisting with yoga detox camps at Ananda Suruchi retreat center in Taiwan. Working with the detox programs was a valuable experience.
During that time, he also studied Chinese Mandarin and completed Bachelor in music and Masters in Ethnomusicology. In 2012 he took further spiritual training in India and became a senior monk (Avadhuta.) Since 2013 Dada Diiptimanananda has been teaching and organizing events for Ananda Marga in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. He currently teaches yoga and meditation at Queens College (CUNY), Ananda Marga Yoga and Meditation Center in Flushing, and during events and retreats in Missouri, Asheville, Bay Area in California and Ontario, Canada.
Dada has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 20 years and is the founder of AM Yoga Academy in Singapore. He’s the organizer of several global ‘Yoga Educators Conferences’ and are currently organizing our programs in Mexico. Known as a passionate teacher, Dada likes to share his knowledge about the subtler aspects of yoga, meditation, and tantra.
